What To Pack For A Beach Holiday

Country Kids - by the pool

My sister is one of the most organised people on the planet.  She sent me a recent packing list from her trip to the Abama in Tenerife.  If you’re headed off on a beach break, have a read through for inspiration.  Even better, print off this beach packing list and cross all the items off methodically. No excuses for forgetting those swimsuits (yep, I did that once).

  • Passports, car rental info, driving licence (including counterpart), directions to the hotel
  • Buggy and reins

We rented car seats through our car hire company

We took our baby monitor but there was no need as the door between the bedroom and lounge was so thin we could hear the kids easily

  • Vests, underwear, trousers, shorts, skirts, dresses, tshirts, jumpers, sunhats, socks, pyjamas, coats, sandals, trainers

We packed plenty of spare clothes in our hand luggage, which was very useful when my son was sick during the flight!

  • Toddler milk, bottle brush, snacks, sippy cups

If we were staying at the Abama again I would also take some extra Nespresso capsules

  • Nappies, nappy sacks, wipes, hand gel, sudocrem, travel changing mat, nail scissors, bath thermometer, hand soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo
  • Calpol, thermometer, plasters
  • Suncream, aftersun
  • Travel wash

We didn’t take a bath mat but did ask for one as the bath was very slippery. I’d be tempted to pack one next time

  • UV swimsuits with hats, swim nappies, goggles, rubber ring, armbands
  • Hooded swimming towels

  • Stickers, books, cuddly toys, colouring
  • Ipads loaded up with games and movies, headphones
