We should all try to reduce our environmental impact, no matter how small the gesture. Planet Wise are a US family business, who make products designed to replace disposable items e.g. their Planet Wise Wet Bags™ and Planet Wise Snack Bags™. The products are all PVC-free and lead-free (did you know that many zippers are painted with paint containing lead?!). I try to bring zero single use plastics when I travel. I have my beloved packing cubes, cotton laundry bags, reusable water bottle, coffee keep cup and metal straws. But what about my kids aka Jetlag & Mayhem? How do I encourage them to follow suit?
The Planet Wise Travel Line – Oh Lily Collection was born from the mind of Lily, the oldest daughter of Planet Wise owners, Nicki & Jesse. Lily created a line of travel bags that would make her and her friends’ lives easier. Each bag in the Oh Lily line was designed by Lily, who carefully selected the features that were most important to her.
Hats off to Lily who has created a desirable range, especially for my two accessory obsessed young daughters. In their words, the prints are ‘fun and cool’. We tested out the 3-pack Clear Pouches in a watermelon print. You can stuff whatever you want inside them – my kids now use them as their toiletries bags for when we travel. The clear front means you can actually see what rubbish they’ve packed inside them and they also can clip all together or to a bigger bag. Best of all they are machine washable, as guaranteed Jetlag & Mayhem are bound to get toothpaste all over them.
We also got to test out the Overnight Bag in a Cactus print. I absolutely love this bag as it’s massive and very very light. It’s also unstructured, which means you can shove anything you want inside with ease! The bag has two interior mesh pockets with elastic. Again, the bag is machine washable and you can either loop the straps over the shoulder or as a backpack.
The Overnight Bag sells for USD 36.95 and the Clear Pouches are USD 16.95. They come in a variety of prints and I would be quite happy sporting the Oh Lily products myself! Shipping within the US is free over USD 25 and they do ship internationally, at an extra cost.
