Geomag Magicube Shapes Review

In the old days, Jetlag & Mayhem would be reviewing all the fabulous toys to pack for your travels. In this new world, we have turned our attention to keeping kids happy at home or if you’re lucky, on a staycation! Aimed at the 1-5yo market, Geomag have released some new products to their innovative Magicube line. We tested out the Magicube Animal Shapes set.

Who are Geomag?

Geomag are a Swiss toy business who started life inventing the first magnetic construction toy. Now they have a wide range of STEM approved products to help kids learn and play. The company has also launched eco-friendly product lines and the Magicube Recycled collection uses 100% recycled plastic.

What is Magicube?

This is a building system made up of magnetic cubes that attach to each other on all six sides. Kids can let their imaginations run wild as they build 3D models. There are four different Magicube Shape sets. There is a 6-piece starter set, a 9-piece animal-themed set, a 13-piece set which also includes wheels and magnetic wheelbases and a 32 piece shape set.

The new Shape sets have a half cube, quarter circle and half sphere. This makes building much more fun!

What did we think?

This is a great toy for little builders. My nearly 3-year-old son loved choosing the animals from the instructions to try and make.

He’s not yet old enough to make them without help. He enjoyed making his own little structures which were endless as there’s lots of different ways to assemble them.

Our pack had 9 pieces but next time I would get the bigger set so there are even more building options.

The set is colourful and fun. I love the fact that the pieces are made out of recycled plastic.

The Geomag Magicube 9 Piece Animal Shape set is available here for 23 GBP

Jetlag & Mayhem was sent a Magicube set for review. I was not paid for this review and this is all my own opinion.
